- Because of their height, Fagaras Mountains have a harsh climate of their own.
- The air temperature drops of 0.5-0.6 degrees Celsius with each hundred meters gained in height.
- At 1800m the yearly average temperature is - 2 ºC with the extremes ranging between +20 and -38 ºC.
- The snowfall lasts from November through to May or June.
- Between 500 and 2500m altitude the atmospheric pressure varies between 800 and 560mm.
